Take This Yoke
Take this yoke
I have carried it too long
My shoulders are tired
My back is bent.
My soul cries out for relief
I want to let go
Yet I move forward
If only I had help
This load would cease to matter.
For years I have endured its burden
Each year adds weight and pain
A few more years and it will overtake me
I will be no more.
Take this yoke from me
Release me from my cell
Heaven hear my cry
This weight I can not bear.
This whisper from my lips to heaven flies
My cry is heard
My burden lifted
And I rest in the Master's arms.
