Take a stock
Have you ever sat down and take a stock of your life? Everything you encounter matters so much and looking at the people you share the same age bracket with, you might have wondered how they made it this far and you are still struggling.
Have you looked at others your own age and thinking, "Surely I can't look that old."? Well . . . Happy independence.
I was sitting in the waiting room to see the CEO, I saw his medium shot picture hanging on the hall way as i entered then a painting of him was hanging inside the waiting room and another nicely framed picture of him and the head of state was hanging in between two pictures of lions. I know this name Kelechi Ojo, it sounds familiar but I couldn't remember where I got to know the name from.
Suddenly, I remembered a tall , handsome skinny fair boy with the same name way back in secondary school.
Could this be him?
As I was pondering on if this is the same guy, this well built happy looking man walked into the room and i quickly discarded what I was thinking. This deeply lined face man was way too old, it can't be him but the coincidence almost knocked me off.
He sat down and asked me few questions, he was soft spoken and I felt a big command and authority with every word he said. He was truly the man in charge and the boss he is and as he spoke, something hit my instincts, 'could this be Kelechi'? I couldn't help it anymore so I asked him if he attended government secondary school...
"Yea I did". He replied with pride.
"Which set"? I asked.
"1986". Why do you ask?"
"You were in my class". I exclaimed.
He looked at me closely.
Then this deeply lined face fair
decrepit idiot asked me...
"What subject did you teach me sir"?
I looked at him and he stared at me as if he understood what was going on in my mind then he took a stronger look, wined his eyes and you could see his eyes balled out then he shouted Ben Okoye!!!
"Is this you"? wow! I wouldn't have recognised you men! Gush.
He recollected my nick name in secondary school...
"Mantisa! men you have truly matured, listen, you gat this one, I am hiring you immediately"
