Take yourself to the top is a dynamic, easy to read self help book by award winning life coach, Laura Berman Fortgang. The books teaches you how to turn your life around with simple easy to follow steps. Laura Berman Fortgang has worked with some of the most successful businesses. Such as, Saatchi and Saatchi, Johnson and Johnson and Prudential Securities.

The life coaching phenomenon has taken shape over the past decade. The whole idea of having a life coach has become just as important as having a personal trainer. The thing is, most of us can’t afford to pay for a life coach. Therefore, this book is perfect for those who want to change certain aspects of their lives, but can’t afford to do so with a life coach. 

The book teaches you to take a long hard look at your life. Berman Fortgang outlines in this book that, you have to identify the things in your life that are holding you back. Whether it be a partner, a group of friends, a boss or quite simply yourself. She also emphasises the idea of having a five year, well thought out plan. Goal setting is crucial when it comes to life coaching.  If you don’t set goals for yourself you won’t ever achieve your true potential.

One really great thing about this book is the fact that, it outlines various case studies. Berman Fortgang actually focuses on real-life case studies. For example, she talks about an aspiring photographer who was scared to start making her dreams come true. Laura helped her using her interesting life coaching techniques. The lady in question became a highly successful photographer.

Another thing that is very interesting about this book is that it talks about starting now. Instead of saying you will start when you have done this or that. You can start turning your life around now, you don’t need money to start taking action. This is something that Tony Robbins always talks about, take massive action.  Don’t keep putting it off until  tomorrow, take action now and start seeing your life change. 

Take yourself to the top also places a lot of emphasis on writing things down. Write down your goals, write out your five year plan. Turn your life around by deciding that you are going to see a change in your life. You have got to decide that you are going to make that change.  This book is like having a personal life coach sitting right in front of you every day. All the strategies she uses with her clients, she uses in this book.

I would fully recommend this book to anyone who feels like they are stuck in a rut. If you feel like your life could do with a change but you don’t know where to start with it this is the book to get.  Some people find it really hard to plan, this book really does help you to start planning the way you would like your life to be. This book really does help you to see things a whole lot clearer. It really is not easy to start planning towards a better future for yourself. But, you will find that once you learn the techniques it will be so much easier for you to put them into practice.
