Tears for Meg.
Today's hub is filled with tears of sadness but also happiness.
I'm afraid we have had a very sad time as last Friday our kitten Meg was run over ,the driver didn't stop and she didn't survive. I found her outside the house. It was awful and Tabs her mum was lying by her side.
We buried her in the back garden and Dai's put a cross on with her name and we are going to plant some primroses there.
To cut a long story short we decided that it would be better not to leave Tabs on her own too long and if we were going to adopt another it would be better to do it sooner rather than later. Hence yesterday little 8 week old Jess joined our family.
Here follows my tribute to dear sweet Megan.
Dear sweet Meg
such a tiny scrap;
I the chosen one
yes just my lap.
x
You filled our hearts
with love and joy;
So true your heart
free of any ploy.
x
You've left a gap
oh so deep;
Dear sweet Megan
memories we keep.
How the tears flowed
my heart did ache;
The callous actions
a heart so fake.
x
Tabs so mourned
her stance dejected;
Following my steps
her baby she wanted.
x
We then decided
there was only one way;
We knew what to do
to brighten her day.
Our Sweet Jess.
Yesterday saw us
adopting little Jess;
Such a sweetie
heartbeats sure bless.
x
What Tabs thought
we can only guess;
but soon accepted
dear little Jess.
x
Each family member
right from the start ;
find their own place
deep in my heart.

Oh, poor dear Meg. It is so heartbreaking to lose a pet. They are members of the family. It is wonderful you have Jess to fill the ache. Beautiful tribute. Best wishes, Kim.
Eddy hello,sorry I've been such a stranger on the site ,pleased to see you are well and writing. Now I have to tell you how sad your tiny little kittens death has made me feel ! Poor little baby,poor mummy lying close by, there with her. Long life to new baby,keep well,
regards jandy..it was a lovely tribute from you..
Very difficult to lose a dear kitty. Glad to meet Jess. Blessings.
Sorry about your kitty. Our Rosie had throat cancer and we lost her 6 months ago. We will see them again at the end of the rainbow bridge.
Oh me--so sorry that you all have had this experience of losing your little pet that way. I am thankful, though, that you could make the decision to get little Jess. She looks like a delightful kitten with a strong personality, maybe one who will grow up to be a protector of Tabs in her old age!
OMG. Sorry to have missed this, Eddy. Prayers for Meg. This happened with my daschund too.
Yet, Meg had the most wonderful life with you and your family.
I am so sorry about Meg, but pleased that she has so much love with you, Dai, and Tabs.
Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. Meg was a beauty and reminds me of my cat. We lost one of our cats in the same manner long ago. The neighbor said she was killed by a teenager speeding down our street. So sad indeed. But we, too, have happy memories. I know you cherished the time you had with Meg. Then more recently we lost our sweet Cookie, who was a Jack Russell terrier, who was run over by a UPS truck, but it was an accident and he did stop. He would always give her biscuits when he delivered a package.
Hugs
My pleasure.
Charana and David, my Friends in Wales, go frequently for beach walks in Cardiff. I have visited it myself and of course the weather is fab now.
You have my love - as I know that you have God's - always. Much peace.
R.I.P Megan indeed!
Much beauty here and I would say that you're done an excellent job. Such beautiful photos!
Please accept my deepest empathy.
So very sorry about your beautiful cat. It's so hard to lose a pet. Our daughter's name is Tabatha we call her Tabs.
I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Meg, Eddy. It's horrible to lose a pet. I hope Jess settles into the family quickly and becomes good friends with Tabs.
Oh, Eddy, it is so hard when we lose a beloved pet. I am so sorry for your loss. You have done a lovely tribute for Megan. Blessings on you all, including little Jess. Theresa
Voted up and awesome. So sorry for your loss but glad it was overshadowed by happiness. Welcome to Jess from my Sid. Hugs and passing this sweet poetic story on.
Eddy, So very, very sorry for your loss. RIP, sweet Meg. Your words are a beautiful tribute to her short but happy, love-filled life.
Since we've lost our Finn boy this year, I have been terrified to let the girls out. I sometimes feel a twinge of guilt when they cry by the door, but I just can't do it.....
Welcome to your sweet little Jess. What a beautiful addition to your home! xoxo
Thanks for making me cry first thing in the morning. So very sad and sorry to read this story about your poor little kitty cat.
Sad to hear about your kitten and you have such lovely photos.
So sorry for your lost. Eddy. I am a pet lover and I understand how devastating a loss is especially when you love them like family members.
That's a beautiful tribute. So sad that the mama was lying beside her. I'm glad you helped heal her heart--and yours, too!
What a sad time for you losing Meg so abruptly and in such a terrible way. I'm deeply sorry and can relate to your loss. Meg will live on in your heart and Jess has found the best home. Sending Tabs some strokes and hugs too.
Your tribute is lovely. Jess will be another 'baby' for you all...and Meg will now be a fond memory not a sad one. She had a such a good life with you and Tabs too. Hoping Tabs and Jess become fast friends quickly...I am sure they will. Jess looks like a good part of the family already.
Oh Eddy i'm so sorry. Beautiful memories in photos. Jess is a lucky kitten. Cheers.
I'm so sorry about your loss. We lost a kitten once and it was devastating.
Oh, I'm so sad to hear you lost Meg so tragically. You wrote a wonderful tribute to her. The new kitten Jess looks really cute. I hope Jess will help to ease the pain. Wish you all the best.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your kitten. They are so vulnerable to traffic! My sister's cat had to have a cage put on her leg and we had one, years ago that had a broken pelvis. Glad to see Jess has been accepted so quickly.
We should put together an anthology of hub kitty poems. Jamie
My sincere sympathy.I hope Jess will relieve your pain!
Rest in peace, sweet Meg....
This is sad Eddy. It seems to be a regular occurrence over the last two weeks..hubbers pets being killed or dying. I must have read at least half a dozen similar hubs. I am so sorry to hear about poor Meg. I hope Jess brings some happiness and makes it easier for you all to cope. Tabs looks like two of our cats Phoebe and Fanny.. Good tribute hub and love your poetry as always.
Meg has has a wonderful tribute from you in those beautiful words. thinking of you and your family,and hoping that Jess will ease the pain and provide you with lots of happiness in the future.
Beautiful tribute Eddy. Living anywhere near a highway is risky and some cats take more chances than others. I had a beautiful gold cat I'd had for a couple years killed in the road and as many years ago as it was it is still such a sad memory. His name was Jerry and after that his brother Tom went to the woods and went wild and I only got to see him once after that and he had this veil eyed look that scared me to try and touch him but he did eat a bite and I think was there just to say hello or goodbye. Hope we all get to see our sweet animals again someday. Surely they came from God.
Oh, Eddy! I am soooooo sorry to hear about Meg. That is just heartbreaking. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to our beloved 4-legged kids. My thoughts are with you.
Glad to hear that Jess has joined your family! All the best of luck with the new addition. She's adorable!
My friend Eiddwen, I am sorry for your loss but at least you adopted another one soon and Tabs took to Jess soon also. Jess even looks similar to Meg. I am sure close-up, and to the family, there are differences.

So, so sad. My heart goes out to you. When adding a new cat make sure to give extra attention to the established cat in the house, especially since she has encountered the loss of her baby. She is grieving and confused. What a blow for the entire family. I am so sorry.
I'm sorry for your loss, Eddy. It is never easy losing a pet...they become such a part of our family. Hugs to you dear friend.

Eddy, I'm so sorry about your precious kitten. My heart goes out to you all as you are grieving. Something similar happened to me...I was 4 years old and had a new kitten for only 2 weeks when it was run over in our driveway. I lost another cat years later who was also hit by a car (and I'm now an indoor-car-only person). New pets heal our hearts but of course do not fully replace the lost ones. I wish you much comfort and peace, and thank you for sharing your experience so beautifully here. Love, Lurana
Eddy, this is a beautiful tribute to Megan. Our pets are never truly gone
from us. They live on in our love for them.
Jess is a cutie. She looks like she is perfectly at home.
Here's hoping little Jess will bring loads of love to your new home.
DJ.
Thats so lovely mam had tears in my Eyes reading that. R.I.P Meg xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh, Eddy my heart bleeds for dear sweet Meg. I remember when you first brought Mother and Daughter home. Tabs must be heartbroken. Hopefully, Tess will fill the void that Meg left behind.
A big hug for you, many sympathies and blessings.
