Terror in the Night
As I lie beneath my sheets
I feel a terror come over me
The sky of my heart darkens
As it begins to race
I dare not open my eyes
For if I see what might be there
It will become reality
And that I simply cannot bear
Yet what choice is this
To hide and not see
What might not even be
Part of reality
Dare I
Should I
Do I
Slowly with a quickened heart
My eyes shall open
To see, what must be seen
