Thankful For MY Everything
Giving Thanks
As I watch the news on T.V. this morning I realize how lucky I am to live in this part of the world. I pray for the people in Japan and all those along the Pacific coastline.
So many parts of the world have had to deal with floods, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanoes, tsunamis, and disease. These are acts of nature. I am thankful God has placed me and my family out of arms way to these disasters.
When I think of how tired I've been of this long cold storm filled winter that has encompassed my part of the world I give thanks that I'm here. I know cold winter is a way for nature to kill disease. I know that seasons change faster than we think and warmer weather is on it's way.
Health, Family, and Friends
I am thankful my family and I are healthy. I see people that are disabled and those who have been sick. I am thankful for what little aches and pains I have to let me know I am alive.
I am thankful I have family and a lot of friends. There are people who are alone with nobody that cares about them. Even my long distant family and friends keep in touch and show me they care.
Thankful I Am Not Needy
There are many people going without food, heat, clothing and even a roof over they're heads. My weight is more than it should be, but that reminds me I have more than enough to eat. I complain about the price of my gas bill, but I know I am kept warm through the cold winter months. I pay property taxes to remind me I have a home to live in.
I know by having to pay the high gasoline prices, I have a car. Many people are on unemployment as jobs disappear. I am thankful both my husband and I still have one. I do not take anything for granted and I am thankful for everything.
