American Dream Poetry: The Revolution
I made a resolution
To raise a revolution
Of carnage, destruction
And chaotic mass confusion.
I’m sending subliminal messages,
To disrupt your sensibilities.
You can silence and censor
But your efforts are in futility.
I’m here to wake the minds
Of future generations,
To end this cycle of oppression
And political denigration.
It’s called the American Dream
Not the American scheme.
Take off the blindfolds already
And see what I see.
Your children are being enslaved,
Their immortal spirits depraved
One foot in the coffin
Tombstone engraved
They're devoting their lives
In pursuit of a paycheck
Selling out their dreams
To be collared around the neck
They march to the gallows
In a single file lines
Waiting to be blessed
By Wallstreet divines
But little do they know
It's all a big scheme
To rob them of their freedom
And the American dream.
