The Calm and The Storm -a poem
"The Calm and The Storm"
The calm, sweet aroma of peace
The water; calmly crashing on the rocks
The sweet, scent of the salty sea breeze
The peace as the tide comes in and rolls out
A never-ending function
Back and forth,
To the shore and fro
The bright, peaceful sunshine;
As it shines and warms the skin
The blue sky, the peaceful sight
The sun rises and sets;
Not asking why
It follows it's orders and function
Day after day,
Up and down;
To the rise and to the set
Clouds begin to cover the sky,
They invade the peaceful sight;
Replacing the warmth
Temperature drops,
The wind picks up;
Not asking why
The tide comes in,
Quicker and faster;
Then rolls back out
The sun hasn't set,
It's still up there;
Covered and blocked by the clouds;
The sun dares not ask why
It's just doing its job,
As well as the clouds
The water is no longer calm
The rocks are quickly feeling the impact of the sea
They take hits
With every blow,
The rocks still know not to ask why
The force and the pressure of the tide
Violently crashes on the shore
Pound after pound on the sand;
But yet, the sand still dares not ask why
Thunder begins to rumble through the sky
Streaks of lightening flash through the clouds;
But the clouds do not ask why,
Nature does not ask why
Why try?
Why should I?
Droplets of water fall through the clouds
Faster and quicker;
The rain falls from the sky
Like sharp, fast nails, falling,
Hitting the ground;
But the ground does not ask why
Tomorrow's a new day
The sun will set and rise
But for today, there's a storm in the sky
The storms come,
But the calm will return
The storm will clear,
The peace will return,
The sky will be blue again,
The sun will shine it's peaceful warmth again;
Not asking why
