Poetry? Maybe

I have this good friend who lives at least 4 billion miles away. His name is John Hansen I think but he could also be hiding his identity. OK that is a feeble joke because he is as real as they come. He just tosses poetry out there like so easy it is remarkable.

I have this wonderful son by the name of Brooks Dierker. I know he is real because I gave him that name. He does poetry but generally does poetry in songs. Wow is he talented.

Brooks really shows me a beat to words. John really helps me get disciplined in words. Those are great pards.

So we try to stretch our minds. “I cannot write real poetry by myself” I think that is good enough. But I can write poetry with the help of my buddies. I would like to say that also there is a great dose of love and God.

John just did an Acrostic piece that peaked my interest. It is a wonderful piece of word craftsmanship. But I had to study a bit and then come back to read it a few more times to get the art employed. It seems that it might be really hard to do it well. But as is my life, the journey and the effort and learning is the best. I kind of care about results in such matters.

I really love the term “poetry in motion”. I also like the Psalms. I am fully happy when a young person makes up a poem by accident and catches it and laughs so hard.

Poetry is like being in love in my view. It would seem OK to say that love is mostly real by conduct. Poetry is an expression which is conduct. Roses and a poem given to another will lighten their step and just plain create joy. (well I suppose you could have a very sad poem and a very ugly rose – but you know what I mean ;-) “A poem by any other name is still a rose?” Something like that.

Well it would be cool if this brought you joy from our home and heart to your peace and family.

Please Be In Love With Words - Your Spouse Will Not Be Jealous Maybe

Though the child may make you laugh

Hell hath no scorn like a child’s wrath

Even I suggest you get out of his path

Be extra cautious on this day that hath

Only live in a very safe haven

You only live once to get to heaven

Kick it in to gear not quick to leaven

Now every day you must act driven

Only you can protect against a hell

Who will come to answer the bell

He could be sent from God or Evil

I suggest of your prayer you deal

Make haste I mean it so well
