The Case of The Bad Child

Not a poet at all but an expressionist of the heart. No mind at all in the written word, just love that I may share.

Poetry? Maybe

I have this good friend who lives at least 4 billion miles away. His name is John Hansen I think but he could also be hiding his identity. OK that is a feeble joke because he is as real as they come. He just tosses poetry out there like so easy it is remarkable.

I have this wonderful son by the name of Brooks Dierker. I know he is real because I gave him that name. He does poetry but generally does poetry in songs. Wow is he talented.

Brooks really shows me a beat to words. John really helps me get disciplined in words. Those are great pards.

So we try to stretch our minds. “I cannot write real poetry by myself” I think that is good enough. But I can write poetry with the help of my buddies. I would like to say that also there is a great dose of love and God.

John just did an Acrostic piece that peaked my interest. It is a wonderful piece of word craftsmanship. But I had to study a bit and then come back to read it a few more times to get the art employed. It seems that it might be really hard to do it well. But as is my life, the journey and the effort and learning is the best. I kind of care about results in such matters.

I really love the term “poetry in motion”. I also like the Psalms. I am fully happy when a young person makes up a poem by accident and catches it and laughs so hard.

Poetry is like being in love in my view. It would seem OK to say that love is mostly real by conduct. Poetry is an expression which is conduct. Roses and a poem given to another will lighten their step and just plain create joy. (well I suppose you could have a very sad poem and a very ugly rose – but you know what I mean ;-) “A poem by any other name is still a rose?” Something like that.

Well it would be cool if this brought you joy from our home and heart to your peace and family.

Please Be In Love With Words - Your Spouse Will Not Be Jealous Maybe

Though the child may make you laugh

Hell hath no scorn like a child’s wrath

Even I suggest you get out of his path

Be extra cautious on this day that hath

Only live in a very safe haven

You only live once to get to heaven

Kick it in to gear not quick to leaven

Now every day you must act driven

Only you can protect against a hell

Who will come to answer the bell

He could be sent from God or Evil

I suggest of your prayer you deal

Make haste I mean it so well

      A poet you've become

I like your beat on the drum

Your words are far-out and fun

They make me smile and run

As fast as I can to your next endeavor

Cos I don't want to miss your poetry, not ever.

Just a note. Rallying me up, shoring me up, standing me up, loving me up and feeding and fueling me up. That is just part of what my children do for me.

You would love it Elijah. We are backing off yet praying.

I was/am a coach. My middle son is in competition. Push it Eric and lift up but back out and shut up.

That is what we do as parents and teachers.

Being a baddy child is awesome for a parent --

Linda. Fried potatoes in a bit. It may go all "south" who cares? I need the carbs for my middle one in a pro tournament - I am so proud. So fun that my wife wanted to go all "a great dinner". "No honey we are looking into proteins and sugars here and carbs over there and electrolytes over there win much hydration. Some "iodized" salt not like ours" Pressing leg lifts and arm shakes and get loose bro. I think we have the "grits". Get 'er done boy. Let us do some foot work and massage and arm ravles. Love you Linda

Tim my young broke the law. Very bad. He used a hose in a water gun fight. Tonight we talk about Grandpa and Agent Orange. The only thing we have a right to escalate is love!

Manatita, life was hard for a few hours yesterday. Yahoo for Challenges.

You let me lean on you. You were my walking stick when I lost my balance. You be the man!

In a couple more efforts and you will become an expert, Eric. How you ended it "I suggest of your prayer you deal Make haste" says to me time is short so get it done ASAP.

I was a very wrathful child - I didn't let my parents know until around 15 - who almost completely belled against how I was being raised, "do what I say, I'm your parents". Today I'm glad I was because I became educated instead of schooled to obey orders.

Thanks for the sharing it, my brother.

Wow Eric! I will NEVER attempt this (besides it would totally mess with the food recipes, don't you think LOL?). You are talented my friend.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

      Hi, Eric,

Really nice. I enjoyed it. Thanks, the love of words goes along with the love of comunications, and in this, Eric is a gifted individual.

Very good. Now I'm really going to start looking over my shoulder. You're pretty good bro and learn fast! I have a few acrostic ones here but we do a similar one in poetry circles which is much harder. It's called the A to Z poem. Figure it out. John might like it as a challenge.

One thing I do with my acrostics and which you guys could do is highlight the first letter. It creates more clarity for the reader who then knows what you are trying to do:

      The boy knows

      Easy, as the man

      Brought him into the world.

      Only yesterday,

You chided me about maths and I wanted to

      Kill you.

      Now, now, you are no

      Other than my father, so

      Why should I

      Hurt you?

I truly love you, for you are

      My very special dad.

I cannot bold it here. I think I must have done it in the capsule before. Peace.

Verlie "why not is what I thought". Oh well maybe not so good but I have more fun trying than not. Let us grow together. You do one and then we shift to another mode. I tell my boy "better to be laughed at than not contribute".

"Poetry is like being in love"...ain't that the truth. Luckily I can be in love without the ability to write poetry, or I would be screwed. :)

Eric, your poetry journey is entertaining to see. Wonderful that you have your little boy for a muse, and amusing insight. I've never tried an acrostic poem, you've got me thinking. Why not?

Greetings from 4 billion miles away lol. I am glad my poetry helps and inspires you Eric. I am sure Brooks is a great poet too..most song writers are e.g. Bob Dillon, Dan Fogleberg, Don McLean to name a few. So glad that my acrostic poem sparked your interest and you gave it a try yourself. Good job with “THE BOY KNOW HIM.”
