~The Color of Silence~
Words come quick, and many
…too easily for me
Paint in, then, my silence…
What color would that be?
What color would you paint those thoughts
That all my words can’t say
Would you begin with classic black
Or fifty shades of grey?
Blue is my soft-spoken tone
While red claims center stage
Green moves me to fields unknown
And purples passions rage
Silence by itself would speak
And say you need to hear
What color, then, would be the paint
That makes my message clear?
Yellow seems lighthearted,
And bids the break of day
Orange draws that curtain closed
As yellow fades away
I think sometimes, of tender pink
The bud has yet to bloom
Brown tells that I’ve been here,
Perhaps arrived too soon.
So silence is the canvas
And perception is the art
What color will you choose to tell
The message of my heart?
