A message to Earth (Short Story)

Updated on September 8, 2015

The View from QuesRin's Window

Her name was QuesRin

QuesRin was 16 and she lived on a distant planet that looked similar to earth but was much more peaceful. The weather there was always perfect and the views were dream like. The city would always light up at night and the people there respected one another. There were no wars, no fighting, no sadness, anger nor hostility in her world. She had heard stories of the planet Earth and the chaotic and violent things that go on there and every day and night she would wish for peace on Earth.

In her mind she would often think to herself how could a place like earth exist? A place where people fight and hurt one another? A place where work never ends? A place where everybody worked but was not compensated fairly? Weapons were used to hurt other. She appreciated the life she had on her planet.

(QuesRin's personality is inquisitive, smart, thoughtful. She is there for her family and friends. She see's the world in the eyes of others, a girl that we would wish to have living on earth. She stays us at night mostly thinking about how she could change the world.)

QuesRin would often sit at her window thinking

QuesRin's friend

As QuesRin was walking away from her room, she heard her friend Amelie calling her name from the front window of her home. QuesRin went out to meet her friend.

(Amelie is QuesRin's best friend and is always there to give advice and help whenever QuesRin needs it. She has no brothers and sisters and lives with her grandfather in a small home. Question and Amelie get along well especially because they have no siblings so they console in one another and help each other when times get tough, she is simple and not as inquisitive as QuesRin.)

QuesRin see's her best friend Amelie

QuesRin sees her friend sitting by the water

QuesRin's friend Amelie

QuesRin sees her friend Amelie sitting outside of her home by the water. She takes a seat right next to her. They begin to have a talk.

Amelie: Isn't that sky lovely?

QuesRin: It really is.

Amelie: Whats on your mind?

QuesRin: Just thinking

Amelie: You think a lot, just enjoy this beautiful planet

QuesRin: I know, I do, I was just thinking about that planet Earth

Amelie: Oh you mean that same place where people hurt each other? There is starvation? Poor people? Sadness and pain?

QuesRin: Yes but I'm sure that through all that pain there is more! Im sure there are oceans of beauty, enchanted forests, Stories that we never heard before, animals that we have never seen before, there is more than chaos in that world Amelie, I just know it.

QuesRin and Amelie decided to go take a walk and continue there talk.

(In their walk they spot two deer like creatures, "Aren't they beautiful Amelie?" says QuesRin. Amelie smiles with a nod. QuesRin says " I wonder what earth is like? If there are creatures on the planet, I wonder what they look like? How do they act? Are they as gentle as our creatures?" Amelie Smiles and thinks about all that Amelie is saying as they continue to talk.)

The Bridge that leads into the City

QuesRin and Amelie Sit and Talk

QuesRin and Amelie decide to sit and talk some more

QuesRin: Do you think the Earth will ever change?

Amelie: What do you mean?

QuesRin: For the better?

Amelie: I don't know, why do you care so much? Those earth people just don't make sense to me.

QuesRin: Let's head to the city, right by the top of that beautiful Saturn View. I heard that if you send a message in a bottle through space someone on Earth will find it and read it.

Amelie: Whatever makes you happy, lets just go I'm getting tired of sitting around.

(The girls head to the city)

The City

Isn't it beautiful?

QuesRin: Isn't it beautiful?

Amelie: It is a sight alright.

QuesRin: Look Saturn is out!

Amelie: Yes it is, it looks lovely. Lets go shopping around and then we could send that message you wanted to send to Earth.

QuesRin: Sounds good with me. Lets go.

(Before heading out QuesRin and Amelie stare out at the sky admiring the beauty of Saturn and they smile as wide as the ring around the planet. They are memorized and feel blessed that they have a view like no other. On their planet it is peaceful, it is serene and gives them hope that peace could be possible anywhere. They appreciate the beauty and turn to one another and smile, two souls connected, they're sisters. No matter what happens and no matter how far they part from one another, they will always be connected some way, some how because that is the way it is supposed to be.)

The Mall

The Mall

The girls go to the AeroDynamic Message in a bottle Store down at the city's mall.

QuesRin: Over there! I see the most beautiful bottle it will definitely stand out and an Earthling will see our message!

Amelie: Looks beautiful lets get it!

(QuesRin and Amelie are fascinated with the bottles color and find it beautiful. They think of keeping the bottle but realize that it would be better to give to the earth people because they believe that the earth people will find it faster. They know that the color will stand out and if that makes some other soul happy even if their on another planet then that is enough for the both of them, they're satisfied.)

QuesRin's Bottle

The Letter..

Hello Earth People,

I am writing this letter from a distant planet near Saturn. We heard about your planet and wish that we could visit one day. We heard about the wars, the pain, the hunger, and sadness that is inflicted on your people and would wish that you come to a peaceful resolution. Last night I cried thinking about the pains of others around the universe and it made me appreciate my planet more.

On my planet there is no such thing as division because we stick together as one people and love one another. We will never let a brother or sister cry from hunger, sickness, or pain. We focus on work to create the latest medicines, technologies and take care of our environment by using the natural resources of the universe. We wish you the best earth people and if you get this message you must send our love and message to your people.

"I wonder if the things that remind me of you remind you of me."

-QuesRin

Letter from QuesRin

The Message has been sent in hopes that the Earth People will find it.

Good Luck Earth!

QuesRin: I just wish that bottle gets there soon.

Amelie: I guess we will never know.

QuesRin: Hey we tried right?

Amelie: Yes my friend we tried..

I Hope that Earth Gets Our Message

Good Night

The Next Morning the bottle arrives on Earth

A child and his parents on the beach. All of a sudden the bottle comes out of the water and into the sand. The child picks up the bottle..

Child: Mommy, Daddy look at this bottle!

Mother: Wow baby that is a special bottle. Isn't it beautiful?

Father: I have never seen a bottle like this before, its like it came from somewhere out of this planet..

Mother: Lets read it.

The Message was delivered

The Parents read the letter and wondered if this could be real... They thought to themselves..

I guess we will never know.
