Salvador Dali Inspired Poetry: The Day I Swallowed a Bird
The saddest day of my life,
I spent on a plane,
Watching a family of birds,
Flying in heart shaped formations.
They were singing
Beautiful songs to each other
And flying free like the wind.
Suddenly turbulence hit,
And the weight of the plane.
Fell on top of my head.
At that moment I wanted to scream
Crash and Burn,
But I had feathers caught in my throat.
I accidentally swallowed
Baby bird.
It was with great regret,
That I looked into mama birds eyes
And told her what I had done.
She pecked my eyes out,
Rendering me completely blind,
You couldn’t have asked for a better ending.
To a broken hearted day.
