The Delight of A Child Playing in The Snow.

Updated on February 5, 2015
The "bump" which will soon be Oliver.
The "bump" which will soon be Oliver.
Ollie aged 2 just last week.
Ollie aged 2 just last week.

Is is any wonder, that Ollie loves the snow?

Wrapped up in his Winter gear,

There´s something he won´t know.

Just look at the delight on mums´face in the pic.....

And realise how tight Her coat around her tummy fits,

Ollie is inside just longing to burst forth,

"Let me out!!!! I want to play........!

The Ollie "Bump" seems to say.

Patience is a virtue. Oliver has none.

Why should he have, anyway.

He´s just a little one.

His eyes alive with joy as he helps his mum and dad,

Build snowmen in their garden,

Then snowballs great for throwing,

Snowball fights all day.

Or throw them at the trees,

Laughter all the way.

Ollie looks so happy, as many children do,

A Winter Wonderland, so much for him to do.

At night a tired little boy is carried to his bed.

He is one of the lucky ones, Warm, Loved, Well-fed.

I'm reminded of my childhood. We would go to Lake Arrowhead in the winter for vacation, when it was snowing. I loved sliding down the mountain on garbage can lids and inner tubes.

Always managed to get snow in my BVDs though :)

Just delightful. Great pics. This sure made me smile. I still remember myself toddling along in a snowsuit falling in the white snow and laughing. Wishing Ollie lots of winter fun. Passing this on.

I love this hub Dim ;it is very similar to the one I published a week or so ago!!

What can be more beautiful than to see a child enjoying the snow (and also a big child ;me;ha ha).

I love epi's comment where he says that his mind is childlike ; I think I can say the same for myself at times too. Especially when I am playing with my grandchidren Ha ha!!I love the words Ollie is inside just longing to burst forth,

"Let me out!!!! I want to play........!

The Ollie "Bump" seems to say.

Patience is a virtue. Oliver has none.

    Why should he have, anyway.

I am voting up,across and sharing all around.

Beautiful and have a wonderful weekend Dim.

    Lots of love

    Eddy.

Your mind is quite brilliant, childlike or not.

I can relate to the way you feel about Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel.

After our children had grown up, left home etc., My husband and I found ourselves behaving more and more like parents to our beautiful"Princess". She became our "baby" until she was 17.

It's funny because I don't have any children of my own but I have two furried babies in my cats, Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel, and they are my children - and my mind is childlike also, lol , hopefully in the good way I mean, in terms of creativity.

If you are a child inside, Epi, then you are wonderful company.

Many people take themseves far too seriously.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and compliments , always, Dim.

Hi Genna...... so glad you liked my little hub.

We live about 150 miles from Ollie, so I am always thrilled when they send me pics of him growing. A visit is coming soon. When the snow is gone. Can´t wait.

Thanks again for leaving such a lovely comment.

How adorable he is…dear, sweet Ollie walking in the snow. That photo of him just melts my heart, and makes our now frigid temps and icy snow outside my window seem so different. The child lives within us all. How lucky Ollie is, and how lucky his parents are as well. Beautiful hub, Dim. :-)

Beautiful family, and fun subject! I live where there is cold but no snow. But to the east in the Sierras there is an abundance of it!

    Hi billybuc,

Thanks for commenting. The snow seems to be missing our village too. Although I cannot for the life of me figure out HOW? Everywhere else including where my grandaughter lives has inches of the stuff.

Still I prefer Ollie to have the snow to play in. I ´d probably just fall over these days.

We are, sadly, missing snow this winter. There is still the child in me when it snows, and I still go sledding and have snowball fights. I think it brings out the child in all of us if we are receptive to it.

    Very nice work, Dim!

I remember about 3 years ago when my then 4 years old son saw snow for the first time. Yep, here in Georgia, we had snow! I watched with excitement as he played for hours in those white beauty. We built a snow man together and he made snow angels while mommy video-taped it all.

    That's just natures gift. Priceless!

Thanks for sharing yours. Voted up.
