The Donkey in the Shed

Updated on January 16, 2012
I took this yesterday and his story wrote itself today.

Mr. Donkey loved his shed

It shielded him from the rain

The cold wasn’t as bitter

The storms a little more tame.

Mr. Donkey loved his shed

The doorway was a perfect fit

He could see great from there

Sometimes he’d even sit.

Mr. Donkey loved his shed

There Mr. Man brought his food

A wonderfully thoughtful man

A perfectly nice thing to do.

Mr. Donkey loved his shed

He’d sleep and dream in the night

about a donkey in another world

that loved her shed with all her might.

Amy, I see those too and I usually have to "moo" at them when I go by!

You are a lucky woman to see that adorable critter. I use to live near a pasture full of cows. My daughter and I would go visit them often, usually with a cow-friendly snack of some kind. I was looking through my photos just the other day and ran across the pictures we took of those beautiful, soulful eyed cows.

Amy Becherer, that would be an excellent idea! I get to see that cute little donkey on my way to work every day!

Oh, I love the photograph and your sweet poetry about that adorable, charming donkey. This would make a fantastic introductory piece in a children's book of poetry that would charm both little ones and their parents.

That was cute and awesome. I loved it. Reminded me of Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh.
