The Faces

Updated on September 29, 2013
Weathered Man
Weathered Man

As I walk about the yard
A catalog amassing
Of all the faces I have seen
Both online and in passing

They show so much emotion
From happiness to lust
From sadness and angers motion
To love and complete trust

I wonder if these faces
Will still be here tomorrow
With all the different paces
Some I'd like to borrow

There are those among us
That wear hearts on sleeves
But faces show much more
That can ever be gleaned

Even the famed poker face
Leaves us with an impression
Perhaps the one who graces
Deserves a secret session

Oh the faces that are seen
When one chooses to look
Reading the lives of all who've been
Just like a history book

The lines upon the faces
Show the weathered times
Of hearts loved and broken
This lifes story vines

So very many faces
But one thing remains true
Show all of our lifes paces
On both me and you

That they do Gypsy! Those lines on the face are like indelible ink, showing everything you do or think. :)

      Thank You for reading.

Voted up and awesome. Faces are memorable and are left firmly etched on the mind. Pearling.

It is intriguing. Every day I see a different spin, something in someone I missed the day before when I see their face. Thank you for the comment.

Intriguing, isn't it? And, you've done well in capturing and jotting it down.

Love the drama of your photo.

Many Thanks! I spend much of my time in chat rooms and the faces I see are at times, other times fearful. Hard to say what will be seen any given day. And the public is no exception. Whether the eye of the person or the eye of the camera makes little difference. Glad you stopped by!

A wonderful poem, and very true. For those who care to see, much of our life is etched in the face. Voting up and beautiful.
