The First... Chapter 5

Michael opened the bedroom door and stopped when he saw Adriana sitting on the bed in the satin robe he had left for her. Her long blonde hair was mussy and she had a look of confusion on her face. Michael could only stare, for her beauty amazed him even after what had happened last night, he proceeded over to the window without speaking a word. Adriana, started to speak when Michael turned and looked at her.

"Michael, what happened last night ?" Adriana said. Michael walked over and touched her soft cheek and put his weathered hands on her face cupping her cheeks and rising her up off the bed. "Adriana, I want you to listen to me please, before you say anything, let me tell you a story, and then I will answer all of your questions, my sweet" Michael said. Adriana put her hands over his and sat on the bed pulling Michael down next to her. Adriana looked into Michael's eyes and for the first time saw the sadness and fear in Michael's eyes. Then Michael spoke with a low voice that she had had never heard before from his mouth.

"Once upon a time, in a different part of the world, a dear humble soul fell into a trap, a trap that is sometimes defined as the most powerful magic in the world, it is Love. This soul assumed it was Love and took the leap, but the woman whom he fell for was a spiteful lover. Lesliana was her name and although she had other plans for him, Lesliana lured him in with her enticing deceitful ways and a little magic. Lesliana had come from a very old European Royal bloodline, a family that was the most fearsome of all the land they were known as the Black Hand. This family was the wielder of the most unholiest power of them all, Dark magic. Lesliana, using her wiley charms and the power of Dark Magic, stole him away from his one true love and enslaved him, damned him to an eternity of her own."

"But Lesliana also gave him.... the first taste of immortality. He could not resist this combination of lust , power and magic all together. For he was just simple man who only wanted the simple things in life, like the love of his soulmate."

"Can you guess who this was?" Michael asked her. Adriana was afraid to answer. Michael rose up and walked to the window again with a faraway look in his eyes. He then turned back to Adriana and his voice began to grow louder as he spoke.

"But sometimes such tenuous bonds that are formed on lies and malice can be broken. He was unusual...this man of the old days...he always remembered his past human life when most men who taste the power of immortality always forget about. He longed for the day when he would again taste the sweet lips of his soul mate. the day that he would be able to hold her and look into her eyes. Knowing that he was tricked, it enraged him, he thought it was true love, for now he was broken-hearted. When he saw his chance, he escaped Lesliana and went away on his own. Because he had a strong will, he ran and made his way to America."

"He had always heard the story of a prophecy, as told by The Witches of BellDon, this prophecy was whispered when the moon shone full over the land. When the Muses are singing of their love and luck and honor in serving the master... when his time has come to take them from their plight of the Black Hand who use Dark Magic to rule the land."

If you can imagine the muse's now floating around you, throwing brilliant shadows all around, dressed in silk and gold, tossing their dark curls and making mirth with their glistening violet eyes, plucking upon their harps, lyres and violins in a mad glee....so airy, ethereal and fierce...chanting this prophecy together so haunting;

two halves of one soul, under the twilight, when the half moon and the year of Yarrow appear to all, precious keepsakes they must remain, until the essence of union shall prevail over the Black crescent moon

Lesliana and her minions fear it and have sought to find one of the two halves for it would be her downfall and of the Black crescent that the prophecy spoke of . A prophesized downfall at the hands of their unborn child. " Who are these halves ? You will ask next, my lovely Adriana", Michael said as he looked deeply into her eyes.......

I, Michael am one of the two halves the prophecy spoke of....
