The Grandma I Wanna Be

All of grandmas’ efforts paid off for I tried to listen well.

My grandmas taught me many things and I want to tell.

From creative talents busting loose and the fine love of country living,

Along with caring acts of kindness and their ever gracious giving,

Patience and strength from pure determination,

From hard work and lessons for their consideration,

Yes, on their watch was kept a strict command;

They knew what needed done to make me understand,

From a unruly start to a stubborn lack of self esteem,

I made it through my childhood fine with them on my team.

As I reach the final chapters in my life my wish will always be,

To be a grandma like the ones that gave their best to me.
