Gratitude, A Short List

Updated on October 10, 2014

Gratitude

Being grateful for everything, brings great things in your life.

There are so many things, big or small that we can be grateful for in our lives, one tend to forget about them from time to time. Just for instance, you are breathing, it's something to be grateful for, or there's someone that loves you, the list can go on and on.

Being grateful for all the things in your life, and by focusing on the good things and not the bad, will bring more good thing in your life, more things to be grateful for, which means in the end you will be at peace and happy.

Albert Einstein once said: There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Love the moment, and the energy of that moment will spread beyond all boundaries. Corita Kent, 1928-1986.

What is a Gratitude list?

This is a list of small or big things to be grateful for, make a pick, or choose your own not listed here and start with that to be grateful for, even if it is just one a day, two the next day and so on. Before you know it it will be a second nature.

I challenge you.

Make a list of what you are grateful for, and see how it grows. This is a fun way to see your progress over time, you'll notice great things you've added that wasn't there in your life before, in the end you'll see there is nothing or very less of the "bad" things left in your life, because there won't be any room left for it.

Happiness is within us

The first thing that came to my mind is my amazing, beautiful and lovely children. I couldn't imagine my life without them.

BTW this is such an uplifting hub!

What a great Hub. I wake up grateful every day. It's the little things that are the most important parts of our lives; and it's the little things that people are less likely to be grateful for: waking up, jobs, wildlife, listening to a mockingbird sign, watching the stars. Thank you.

That's true Shark, there are so many things to be grateful for, you'll never have "nothing" to be grateful for.

..what a lovely life-affirming hub and I have immense gratitude for your gratitude - and your beautiful smile ain't half bad either !!!!!!

I have a theory too - draw a line down the middle of a blank page and make it like a balance sheet - write pros on the side - and cons on the other - and then - be honest - write down all the good things in your life on one side and then all the negative things (or something that is lacking or needs improvement) on the other side - and if the positive side outweighs the negative side then life isn't so bad is it -- because it's all about the balance in life and we all have to work on it in our own little way.
