The Green Storm
We looked up, and for the first time we knew,
The kids stopped playing, and the adults silenced their arguments,
Heartbeats paused as the sun withdrew,
No one walked or ran as the ground turned to cement,
I saw the hat of a man fly into the sky and vanish out of sight,
The fright filled the air, as time now was sure to stop,
Our world was now dark, but light didn't surrender the fight,
I cried as I saw a bird slowly fall to a violent drop,
Was this the end that many feared that would come,
It did not matter now, it was here and fear knew no one, and we were all caught.
