The Green Storm

Updated on February 20, 2015

We looked up, and for the first time we knew,

The kids stopped playing, and the adults silenced their arguments,

Heartbeats paused as the sun withdrew,

No one walked or ran as the ground turned to cement,

I saw the hat of a man fly into the sky and vanish out of sight,

The fright filled the air, as time now was sure to stop,

Our world was now dark, but light didn't surrender the fight,

I cried as I saw a bird slowly fall to a violent drop,

Was this the end that many feared that would come,

It did not matter now, it was here and fear knew no one, and we were all caught.

I love it, especially the green tongue, but the poem led me with a frantic pace. Truly and fun read. Thank you for sharing. Jamie

Was this poem about the end of time? It was an interesting read...

That was interesting Kelvin. The guy with the green tongue was funny. It looks like it has fluorescent paint on it and he wants to get rid of it. I voted it up shared and pinned it.
