The Grownup Game
Child's Play
The Grownup Game
She weeps like rain
In silence,
On the interior window pane.
A slow mist stills in her eyes
As she smiles a meek refrain.
When inside she cries
A thousand tears overflowing,
From the corner of her eyes.
The sadness she succumbs to
Dwells deep inside.
Where her heart is still
As her soul is pressed,
In the squeeze of mankind.
That oozes out the innards
As the years unwind.
She used to be happy,
But now she weeps like rain.
While the children still smile
Safe from the grownup game.
