The House That Will Bought

Updated on January 26, 2016

This is the house that Will bought.

This is the money that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is the honey that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is the Oscar of gilded gold

that frustrates the honey

that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is the emotion accusing and bold

that craves the Oscar of gilded gold

that frustrates the honey

that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is the star happy to fold

to pacify the emotion accusing and bold

that craves the Oscar of gilded gold

that frustrates the honey

that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is cheering white folks that played a role

in making money for the star happy to fold

to pacify the emotion accusing and bold

that craves the Oscar of gilded gold

that frustrates the honey

that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

This is the academy self-righteous and extolled

that forgets cheering white folks played a role

in making money for the star happy to fold

to pacify the emotion accusing and bold

that craves the Oscar of gilded gold

that frustrates the honey

that enjoys the money

that paid for the house that Will bought.

FUN FACT! The costly Calabasas, CA mansion Will Smith owns is so huge that has its own zip code!

Citing the belief that racial discrimination kept Will from receiving an Academy Award nomination*, Jada Pinkett Smith has convinced her husband to join her in boycotting this year's Oscar awards ceremony.

*Smith received an Oscar nomination for Best Role by An Actor in a Leading Role in 2002 for his title role in Ali, and again in 2007 for his performance in The Pursuit of Happyness.

As far as I'm concerned this is pure mastery! I enjoyed every word and the photos compliment to a 'T'. What a message you've conveyed. Sharing this one Beth.

DDE, this is true and I don't begrudge anyone for making good with their talents and their hard work. I wish we could all have the opportunity to prosper so well! But I do feel their boycott of the Oscars is lacking in sincerity and based on sour grapes, otherwise I think we would have heard the Smiths complain about the "racist" nature of the Oscars when Will was previously nominated.

Jodah, agreed. I've been a fan of his for a long time but yeah, there are plenty of talented actors and actresses -white, red, yellow, brown and yes black- that have devoted their lives to making films and never get kudos from the Academy, not even a single nomination. In having two nominations under his belt already, Will Smith is already ahead of a whole lot of his fellow thespians.

Thank you much for reading and the comments :)

Everybody deserves a good life. Will Smith worked hard for what he achieved.

I admit Will is a good actor, but there are a lot of great white actors who have gone through their whole careers without winning one. I am sure he will get an Oscar one day. I love your new poetic rendition of a great old song. Great work

I absolutely enjoyed reading your poem. What a clever way to be relevant and entertain at the same time. Excellent!
