Epic Poetry: The Immortal

Updated on June 19, 2013

She held him in her arms
Mortally wounded
Blood seeping to the ground

His heart
That beats only for her
Slowly beating still

For all her tears
This would be the end
So he brushed his hand upon her face.

"Do not weep for me
For you
I would have died a thousand deaths

Please smile
Let my dying memory
Be of the smile that I lived for"

Despite her sadness
She smiled
Smiled for the only man she could ever love.

She kissed his lips
And when she let go
He breathed his final breath.

And with that final breath
The story of the immortal
Began.

To be continued........
