The Individualist

Updated on January 5, 2012

The individualist was similar to a stray cloud

He was never one to follow the crowd

In his uniqueness he was very proud

He liked rock, R&B, classical but not country music

Occasionally techno when he was feeling lethargic

Insatiable was his sweet tooth, craving candies like sweetarts

And he still clung to his videogames like Kingdom Hearts

His friends would describe him as the funny, eccentric guy

As a toddler his first spoken words were “apple pie”

Because of his love of food he learned to cook

On weekends he’s usually working, golfing, or on Facebook

The word indecisive perfectly fits the individualist

He was split between careers in film or to be a forensic scientist

He considered anything but school to be his forte

Despite that he still did very well, surprisingly, some would say

And now that his last high school year is slowly inching away

He is impatiently waiting for that day, a little after May

Until then he’ll probably be doing Friday’s homework on Sunday night

But as the year goes on he must try not to give in to senioritis with all his might

This individualist’s high school journey has been long, but the end is in sight
