The Labyrinth (Poem)

The labyrinth stretches forward,
like the giant maze of life.
Twisting and turning without end
leaving us guessing what is next.
The tall green hedges block our view
Keeping us from knowing what the
future holds.
But we keep moving
forward blindly,
wondering where this path could lead.
Thorns tear through our skin,
leaving scars that
cannot be hid.
Through the dim twilight
we glimpse the silhouettes of others like us,
but we never fully understand who they are.
So we continue on
trying to figure out this puzzle.
The moon high in the sky,
we feel the grass beneath our feet,
wet with dew.
Panicking we start to run.
Scared of losing the time
We have already lost.
But it’s too late.
The sun is beginning to rise
And there is no time left.
