The Light of Orion
The dark chamber of my sphere
smothers me like dust from a storm
whipped up from a fury of wind and rain
mixed with disappointment and excruciating pain
The knots in my mind are fixtures which
form the new landscape of my dreams
and stop me running away from my past
making my journey to freedom last
All I see is smog obscuring even the kindest word
and intermittently I hear laughter bellowing
into the atmosphere like the roar of a lion
In a cage too small to contain the light of Orion
Silence has become my trusted companion
slowly and gingerly guiding me to blessed peace
whilst solitude takes my other hand and leads me
to smooth waters where noise can finally cease.
