The Mermaid Vidalena

Updated on October 30, 2011
It is known both far and wide From sea to shining sea A mermaid’s song can call to you How enchanting it can be
You know the "Little Mermaid" With long, red flowing hair But did you know her evil twin Could scare you with a stare?
She is called a "Siren" She's a beauty to behold On the night breeze of the sea Her singing’s pure as gold
Her voice will ride upon the wind To lure the big ships in And once the sailors are in reach Her evil soon begins
This is the story of Sarah A Siren who was bad And her twin, Vidalina Sarah made her very mad!
Vidalina had a kind heart But Sarah, she would roar! She'd call and lure the ships in To crash upon the shore
Then Vidalina would appear To save the drowning men She'd pull them from the churning sea Then she'd dive in again
Away she'd swim, into the blue In the coral she would hide And when she saw that it was safe Back on the waves she'd ride
Vidalina, she saw Sarah As she frolicked in a wave And Vidalina thought of All the men she could not save
Vidalina fought with Sarah Yelling "This has got to stop!!!" Fins were going everywhere But Vida was on top!
"Ok! Ok! I'll stop now!" "Now you just let me be!" Sarah flapped her big tail As she swam back out to sea
So if you're on the ocean In the quiet, before dawn You might hear from far away A mermaids soothing song

I used to believe in mermaids when I was little.
