The More I Write

Updated on August 6, 2013

The More I Write

by Chuck Ritenour

The more I write

the less I'm read.

Is it something I've done?

Is it something I've said?

Did I take a wrong turn

down some dusty road?

Just give me a clue

please, I need to know.

Am I no longer fresh?

Has my writing gone stale?

Should I try again

or should I just bail?

Is it my imagination?

Is it all in my head?

The more I write

the less I'm read.

I am a serious writer.

love the poem, so how we all feel at times! I took some time off writing to start working on my new book, however, I am back now with travelogs, music musings, etc. Nice to try all subjects and styles. Think I will put some more poetry on my site as everyone seems to like our poetry!

I'm just reading this two years after you wrote it, but all I know it could have been written today. Everyone has the same cry. You found poetry in it. That's great!

Chuck, I think we all feel you here. Funny though how you can find inspiration to write even in a drop in traffic! Keep having fun with it!

thanks for droppin' by. Well read or not, I enjoy writing on HubPages. I've gotten much more out of it than I imagined...no not $$$, but the pleasure of sharing with so many talented writers....and reading many thought provoking hubs..

      dahoglund,

I'm not sure but with the new rules I think we have all lost traffic.
