clasped earth

finds its way,

as we all must,

unfolding

piece by piece

each finding light

in our own way

in our own time

out of the darkness.

Hi Audrey, makes sense to me. The darkness in our lives allows us to search for light and that is a good thing. We fall back into darkness time after time and need to seek light or need to make light if we can. Your poem is right on time. Thanks for sharing!

      Exquisite as always, Audrey.

Darkest days of the year? well, seen from one standpoint I guess that you're right. For me it's more like Light and more light.. .

Yes, there is certainly a need for darkness, like your poem says. It's interwoven with Light.

Merry Christmas to you and dear ones, and wishing you a life of ever-increasing inner peace. Shalom!

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty." This line from Keats popped into my head after reading your poem--a very fitting description in my opinion.

Lovely, and just right for Christmas time. It reminds me of the first five verses of the Gospel of John. We live in darkness until we see the light.

The days definitely are darker in the northern hemisphere in winter. I think that is another reason that springtime is so welcomed. I enjoyed this poem of yours. We must all find our inner light!

But Is it wrong to love the darkness

      to adore the night

Is it unhealthy to hide in the shadows

      avoid the bright

      Awesome writing Audrey .....Ed

... each finding light in our own way... Absolutely agree with you, Audrey :) For me the light is Jesus, for the others someone else or something else. The choice is ours. Great poem :)
