The Negative Assassin

Updated on June 8, 2014

Negativity is a chowing force overcome by kindness.

How do you combat negativity?

Assassin
Creeps in
Through the eaves
Of Mind's window

Slowly
Strangles
Choking

Withered
Neck
Of Thought

He
Tiptoes
On the sill

And
Deftly closes
Mind's panel

To sun's
Lit path

But slain
By a ,
Benign breeze.

How to stop negative thoughts in their tracks.

Wonderful poem with an important message!

I keep negativity away by prayers and by keeping myself busy.

      Thanks for sharing!

The perfect message for me today. Oddly, I am writing a hub about this topic....so nicely done, Michelle, and obviously I agree with you.

Prayer for me is the most powerful tool and so, of course that's my answer to your poll.

I'm always busy anyway and really no time or at least I try not to dwell on anymore negative things in life. They are the biggest suckers of energy!

Great thoughts on this piece Michelle!

Like the analogy here, negativity can creep in unannounced, most skilful. Your words are well chosen.

When I voted, it was for prayer, but long walks and also phone calls to cheer someone else really help. Thank you for such an interesting and perceptive piece.

Wonderful hub. Negativity is a useless emotion. We must always stay positive. Passing this on.

You have portrayed negativity very well in this poem. Yes, it blocks the light of reason and yet a simple word can defeat it.
