Shrewdly substituting pointed thought

for the tender language of the heart,

I sat with colleagues

of the finest crust,

baking away

the crumbs of tangential thought

streaming toward

the relief of silence.

In a holding pattern,

circling

looking for a landing strip.

Audrey - I love it, I love it, I love it....for so many reasons and on so many levels. And then of course you managed to include the far too seldom used word "tangential." I can go to bed happy now. :) Theresa

Thank you Theresa--I just know so many poets who are so gifted, but who can't touch the heart--sad really

This is a wonderful poem, I really enjoyed it. I think I worry too much about the final result of my poetry at times, which hinders the overall experience. I must learn to just let go and write. I voted this up and beautiful.

strikes and strikes.. the heart so powerfully... so many interpretations.. powerful imagery...

all the talent you have going on...

      In awe
