Twisted Love Poems: The Price of Your Love

Updated on June 8, 2013

You were the addiction
I knew I couldn’t kick
Any moment without you
Enough to make me sick

I wanted your love
But I knew I had to pay
So I did whatever I had to
To make sure you’d stay

You asked me for jewels
Only Harry Winston would do
You asked me for shoes
Gucci, Prada, Jimmy Choo

Only the best
Would grant me access
To the site of you
In that little black dress

Dolce and Gabbana
I do believe
I bought it for you
The day our love was conceived.

If I knew back then
Why your eyes were so green
I would have cut my losses
And walked away clean

But one little taste
Of you in the flesh
There was no turning back
I was yours till death.

PHILLYDREAMER...you fell into her trap ? and I thought you were the great white hunter...yes it is sad what some men will do for love, however, no one ever said it was " free "..that was something done in 1973..loved the poem..kind of a catch 22 , don't you think ? ahh but look how happy you must be..

At one point I was naïve enough to do things like this, but then my first grade teacher talked some sense into me lol. Actually this piece is directed at men who feel they have to buy a woman's love, and was inspired by the movie Casino.

And yet so many people still try to put a price tag on it.

I liked the poem, despite the fact that I am definitely not one of those women. You cannot get happy with money and the love of a man is not based on money and diamonds. It is in his heart and can make you happier than anything in the world, if it is true and meaningful. I'd rather live a rich life being poor than living a poor life being rich. True love is priceless. And I feel sorry for those who fall for a woman like that, no matter if they can afford it or not - but her love is simply not from the heart and not worth spending a penny.

Some people are too artificial to understand a concept like that. Its all about portraying an image of perfection that doesn't exist.

Once bitten....You live and learn....there are a few clichés I think that we're written especially for this scenario...well written. Voted up:-))

Glad this is not autobiographical! Could be a scary ride with those green eyes!
