The Pyramid Lake Fire (2016)

Updated on April 6, 2017
Source

To witness great, the rivers in the sky.

The winter flooding down the streets of town

to watch in awe as tires on cars could drown,

enough water to build and build our lie.

Now snow has taken hold, an icy cold,

a chill that makes things clear, a hop, a skip,

a jump, could lead to hospital, a trip,

an icy journey hopefully not told.

Before all this the sage would slowly burn

on reservation land, Pyramid Lake.

A wild fire that would burn for acres long,

the black and charcoal ruins of concern

and hopefully memories in flame will take

and listen to this instrumental song.

Your cadences here are so musically constructed--it makes the whole piece more poignant

" The rivers in the sky " Very descriptive! The reservation land burning, full of litter. A poetic message noted....Well done indeed...

Very descriptive and very musical, but I wouldn't want to live there.
