Volunteer

Updated on November 25, 2017

In the midst of deep teary river,

we felt shallow.

In the core of muddy and lifeless land,

we displayed hope.

When people grieve,

we comfort them.

When populace are vulnerable,

We make them strong.

At some point of scarcity,

we provide bounty.

In the course of counseling,

We serve as steward.

At the pick of your laughter,

We feel cozy.

With your simple and genuine appreciation,

We are rewarded.

As a volunteer firefighter I really appreciate any writing that recognises the effort of rescue volunteers. Nice poetry, and well done. Voted up.

      Dear cinderella14,

Hi!Thanks for sharing the status of the Philippines. I'm from the same country.I just want to add more on your view.A genuine help is badly needed during devastation. However, becoming a volunteer should not wait for a disaster to happen. We can be volunteers in our own way.

Thanks for your thought.I appreciate it.God bless!

I am always humbled when I see everday people, most with no training at all jump in to to help others. We do volunteer, and help out with our local soup kitchen, and events to clean up the community. Thanks, voted as Awesome to all who volunteer.
