The Shouting Tomatoes

Updated on June 09, 2016

An Ode to the Tomatoes

It seems to be a war cry

With so many tomatoes shouting high

They seem to propagate a reason

That they are a gift for every season

All the veggies know thy name

And bow down in reverence for the same

Paying heed to the tomatoes war cry

There are so many mouths turning dry

Mouth watering. Ain't it?
Mouth watering. Ain't it?

The Tomato Poll

Do you love tomatoes? If so in what form do you prefer it the most?

      Thanks Bill,

I sometimes write poetry just to change the rhythm.

This is such a random topic for a poem, though I suppose most odes do tend to be that way. I really enjoyed reading this, and my appreciation for tomatoes has definitely increased!

      Thanks Mae,

The topic was given to me as a part of a copy test at an advertising agency and the above piece is a result of what I produced on the spot for them.

Thanks Surabhi for your words of appreciation as well as motivation. Keeps me going. And yes I am an Uttarakhandi now. Feels better than earlier when I was a UP'ite :) and Roorkee was part of UP.

Ha ha. Cool. Tarun, I've been to Haridwar many times. I feel a spiritual connection there. In fact, the novel that I'm working on has a setting of Haridwar. Chalo, it's nice talking to you. Keep on writing. Will catch up in August. Lots of Love.

OK Cool! Did you already decipher a title for your novel? I ask this because title can sometimes get tricky. Anyways, do let me know when it gets published? And yes sure, lets connect in August again to compare our notes. On a personal note I am in love with Rishikesh and I am there almost every fortnight, it being just 50 kms from where I live. See you soon and keep elevating the lives of people through your brilliant poetry. I just read one.

How very sweet of you! Yes, yes, I have a few friends who have given me many titles for the novel. I will decide once I'm done. I have two more chapters to go, and then would send it to the editing agency. I plan to complete it in November. I would let you know. Btw, I love Rishikesh too. Thanks for the motivational words. Much appreciated. You're too kind. Radhaswami.

      Cool poem tarun.

Munching would've been a boring affair,

Had there were none of these,

      Sweet, juicy and sour,

      Vegis.
