The Song Of Life in Me
By: Toni Whisenant
My heart beats as if creating the bass.
My breath quickens as if keeping the pace.
My feet moving to such a rhythmic sound.
My mouth smiling as I lift off the ground.
Moving my hips to the sullen sway
Of the music calling my melodious name.
Again and again I look to the skies
To see myself dancing, as if through Goddess' eyes.
My voice sings to bring sound to the mix.
My hands beat to portray my musical fix.
My fingers tingle as if they have a life of their own.
My ears hear the sounds of my body, unknown.
Spinning around with music in my ears
My arms held out to embrace the spirits near.
Nature calling me in such a way
That I sing to it in complete array.
My toes feel the grass beneath my feet.
My arms held out to feel the radiant heat.
My legs moving ever faster and faster.
Love is my chain and music is my master.
My voice flows and falls and flows again.
If joy is wrong then my happiness is sin.
In this beautiful dance of life
Only I can inspire the extraneous flight.
The nature creates a beautiful sound.
A song of every living thing around.
Slow down and take a breath
And smell the sweet scent
Of nature itself and love, all intended
To make one sit and hear the blended
Music the Goddess has nurtured in which
We should sit and hear the wonderful bliss.
I have come to hear and to see
The Song of Life that is in me.
