The Sound of Rain "The Maestro" (Poem)

Updated on August 6, 2017

I am elated for this vast opportunity to be able to communicate what the Creator truly means to me through poetry and prose.

The rain was falling, it was literally pouring,

The sound of thunder, as a great voice speaking

Listen, can you hear the rain!

The sound thereof inherent in the rain drops

Splashing, Splashing, Splashing to the ground!

It is such a time of refreshing,

Creator, only You could have created

Such a genuinely sweet sound,

I can hear the rain!

It sounds like music with its very own accompaniment

You are "The Maestro" of all that is audibly pure

Direct from Your silent abode,

Solitarily, only You really know the purpose, of course,

The reason that You created the rain,

These waters from above descend here below,

Yes, I can hear the rain!

Cleansing the air and earth upon its arrival

Oftentimes, we cannot see the reasons, why does it rain?

It provides the terrestrial with what it needs

Clouds cover the sky stretched out as overcasting quilts

The sun is hidden behind the clouds

Obedient to allow the rain to complete its mission,

This rain is a serious one,

All rain is serious when we listen!

It quickens acknowledgment,

It inspires me to annunciate my appreciation to You, as Creator

Praises are released from the depths of my soul, I marvel,

As if the rain has touched me internally

My heart rejoices within me,

You create the fruits of my lips,

Then as springs of water bursting

I begin to worship,

Praise You Creator, Praise You Creator,

Thank You for the rain!

Oh, by the way,

The sun emerged from hiding

The rain stopped, and

The sun was shining brightly once again!

Beautiful. I especially loved the ending. The rain can be soothing, calming or treacherous. Yet, after the rain the sun always shine. It's a great reminder that life is seasonal.

Love this salute to rain and its Creator. We take for granted the miracle of water falling out of the sky. Very nice!
