The Spring of Life

Updated on April 16, 2016

The Spring of Life

What a bliss to live life as teenager carefree,
Like fire it blazes and twirls in twig as a leaf.

Like water it evaporates instant into the wind,
How inclined and eager to sit on embers ever.

Listless go the frames bereft of the sap within,
Keeps moving toward perils to tarry in the awe.

How a flower gets severed from the tender stem,
Stretching the neck to kiss the stroke quite close.

Dense clouds venture into the raging lightening,
Earnest to play in the rains and take the fires on.

The world waging war against the tides of time,
Sips dreams of days in hand and days to come.

When the guys smolder in piques and squabbles,
Disposed to vanish into gusts of eruptive hugs.

When decor and peace in lands burn the minds,
Embraces the chaos, gives blows to comforts.

A teenager bereft of an iota of fear in his mind,
Deems the worth of life to appear and go instant.

What a passion to lose the self in innocent crush !
What an eye to glance Heaven in a tender touch !

A bird cannot forget the fledging leaving the nest,
A river the giant leap from the pinnacle of a glacier.

Teenage comes in life as spring sprouts in a year,
Like fragrance it fleets, as aroma it winks away.

Beautiful poem, Bro. I like it. Perhaps we will return again, who knows? Share the cooling flow of the fountain; listen to the chirping of birds; suck wild honey like bees. Good to dream ha ha.

Teenagers oblivious to harm and possible danger. They mostly live for today, unless they're in a war torn country, then their youth is forfeited. How lovely your spring of life an unforgettable season!

      What a beautiful description Harish.

      Like a cracker, colourful teenage,

      Can amaze,

      Without direction, can blaze.

Hi I commented a few days ago and don't see my comment. Teens live in their time and for their purposes. Life is just that.

Oh ! how do the comments vanish away ? Maybe a network glitch ! Yes, teenage has a specific purpose. Devika, it was a stray thought to look into the mirror of this phase of life how I lived it. Glad you liked it. Thank you.

Hari, you captured the essence of misspent youth of today's world flittering their teenage years away. But I think maybe the youth of yesteryear had less excitement and the boredom made the years seem to go slower.

      Well done Hari

Teenage is a crucial phase of life that can either make or unmake the whole package of life. You know, how some wily guys misguide them. Shyron, you are right, youth today is in a superfast mode, and there is great excitement, of course. Thanks for reading and commenting. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

      Beautiful poem to describe teenage!

You took me back in the times when I was that age. And most of the teenagers think they know so much about the World and when they become an adult they realise the complexities of life.

Surely this is the Spring of life when everything looks so fresh and beautiful . Perhaps the most enjoyable period of our lives.

Thanks for the beautifully expressed poem!

Yes Chitrangadasharan. You said it all so beautifully. Teenage is like a stay in dreamland. Everything, how trivial it may be, looks so enchanting to the mind and soul. There is a blending of courage and innocence. There is a kind of insouciance ingrained in the teenager's psyche.

I love your visit. Thanks for your sincere and heartfelt comments.
