The State Of Being Tranquil
I took a walk along the shores
I watched the gentle motion of the waves.
I sat upon a man-made barrier.
I wonder at the universe.
The expansive nature of it all.
Do you ever stop to think?
To view nature in all its glory?
As I watched, the black birds happy in flight
the soulful caw of each
as the fluttering of wings landed each in the tree under which I sat.
It was only for a minute true, yet it seemed like an eternity.
Cares disappeared in those few minutes,
to be replaced with pure delight.
I care not for possessions,
nor things others do.
I care for peace, and tranquil sounds;
in essence a serendipitous existence.
