Have you ever heard of LARP of cosplay events? These events provide a nice activity to people of all ages and give them a choice to get out of their normal, hectic lives and be a part of a fantasy world that is so different from the real world. Do we really go to a different dimension? Of course, not! These events are run by different organizations of the entertainment industries and provide a simulated environment to people where they could gather dressed up in different costumes of Medieval knights, prince, movie stars, witches, wizards, cartoon or anime characters and the list goes on. So, the basic concept is to leave this world of reality for a little time and be a part of the world you fantasized when you were a child and who knows, still, fantasize. There are many costumes and accessories which you can get yourself so you look exactly like the character you have decided to be. Most of these costumes require some costumes to go by them and real weapons are strongly prohibited in LARP or cosplay events. Then what should we get? The answer is pretty simple - Cosplay Weapons!

What are Cosplay Weapons?

Cosplay weapons look like real weapons but they are made up of foam. This is their most distinguishing feature and this is what makes them safe to be carried by even children and legal to be used in cosplay or LARP(Live Action Role Play) events. You may be thinking that weapons made up of foam are for kids only! Well, let me surprise you here! Not only kids, but teenagers and adults also get these cosplay weapons and dress themselves in their favorite characters to be a part of these marvelous events every year. Just imagine, you can be anything you want! A magical or mythical creature, a movie star, an anime star or a cartoon character of your choice.

People not only dress but even talk and act like the character they have transformed into. Cosplay weapons even become more essential to get if you decide to take on the character of a knight, a soldier, a king, a prince or of some movie or anime star. There are so many types of cosplay weapons available in stores nowadays. Some of them may belong to the historical era while others would belong to the fantasy or mythical world. Let us have a look at them.

The Different Types of Cosplay Weapons

The following are some different types of cosplay weapons available in stores worldwide at very reasonable rates.

1- Cosplay Swords

Your costume is definitely incomplete without cosplay swords especially if you are deciding to be a knight, a soldier, or sword yielding anime or movie character. A sword is the heart and soul of such a costume and there is no chance that you can pull it off without a cosplay sword to go with it. Cosplay swords are made up of foam and do not have a real blade. But they look very much like real swords and feature the same intricate details and structure. It is not as if the sword would bend and break, the foam is highly durable and is shock resistant as well. One of the most popular cosplay swords is the Zelda Sword.

Zelda Dark Knight Cosplay Sword

If you are into video games, then you must be very well familiar with the famous and highly entertaining blockbuster video game known by the name of “The Legend of Zelda”. It is a Japanese video game and it has one of the most famous cosplay weapons which people love to buy and collect. One of the most popular one if the Zelda sword is known to have powers to finish the evil. It is also known as the sword of Resurrection or the sword of time and is a very beautiful sword. The most distinguishing feature of a Zelda sword is its guard which is designed in wing shape and fans out from both sides of the blade. This Master sword of The Legend of Zelda has a huge fan base and people spend a lot on buying the best Zelda sword for themselves.

2- Cosplay Shields

Cosplay shields are also quite famous cosplay weapons and mostly go with costumes belonging to the historical era. Do you know what a shield is? A shield is a piece of armor that blocks attacks from the enemy and saves you from blows and attacks meant to harm your body. The real shields are made up of metal and especially steel. However, cosplay shields are made up of hard foam. There are many types of shields available in stores. A few most popular names are the heroic shield, the shield of Zelda, Gol Killer replica shield, 300 foam shield, and so many others as well.

3- Cosplay Guns

Cosplay guns look like real guns but are not real, of course. They are made up of rubber mostly. So, if you want to take the look of a policeman or a soldier, then these cosplay weapons are for you. Cosplay guns may be made up of rubber but you get the real feel and action with them. They also come with an orange tip to differentiate them from real guns so you can imagine how close to real guns they are designed. These guns shoot plastic BBs which are simply harmless and do not harm or injure anybody. This is why they are legal to be used in cosplay or LARP events. If you are planning to be a policeman or a military person for your next LARP or cosplay event, then cosplay guns are the ones for you.
