The Valley of the Ignorant

Updated on August 11, 2011

Some seem so blinded by their own ignorance. They walk head held high, believing they have a purpose without believing in anything at all. Shame be to the man that cries, yet the man that never does; dies young. How is it that in a world so prim, popper and perfect do we act so inadequately imperfect? We all have our own demons, this is true, yet do our demons now have demons? This world seems over run by garbage and not the type you can bag. The filth is spread mainstream in papers, movies and music. Filth seems to spew from the mouths of the youth like an infectious, disgusting disease. Sure, sex sells, yes; but sex also gets a young girl pregnant. Thanks MTV, I got that memo.

Did anyone ever think that this world is in dire need of a savior? Afraid to leave the doors unlocked, the windows opened or to be out at night. We shelter ourselves as the sun sets and never look back. Fear seems to be our night time companion and the fear we have won't keep us warm. We fear death, disease but most of all... Each other. It seems as though we have an ignorance that has plateaued us all. If we are rich or poor, young or old... We all seem to lack real intelligence when it comes to how the mind works. Our eyes see things we may not want to see... Yet most of us choose to not turn away. We soak in all that we see. Our eyes, then, shock our hearts and our hearts can't make any sense of it. So its up to the mind. The same mind that mimics and replicates anything it soaks in just for better understanding. That's only when we're 5 years old. Did it ever dawn on anyone that the children end up the way they do for lack of parenting or day I say, ignorance? There is always room for mistakes and we all make them, but who's counting anyway? One mistake could get someone killed but that never stopped one from owning a gun, now has it? For as much fear as we hold in our back pockets, we sure have a lot of balls in our fronts, to doubt God.

So stand, head up a dark hole, and tell me what you see. It's hard to see anything with the blind leading the blind, now isn't it?
