The Void Inside of Jimmy
Once upon a time there was this poor kid named Jimmy, who begged his parents for this one expensive rare toy. His parents could barely afford to feed him. Every night Jimmy knelt down and prayed to be granted this toy, he even dreamt about it. "Dear God, I've never had any toys. If you let me have this one toy, I will forever be grateful and never let it go!"
Guess what? Soon after Jimmy was granted his wish and got the toy of his dreams. At first he was so excited and fascinated by his new toy. "This is the best toy ever! I will cherish it forever." But shortly after he began to damage it. Until one day he grew bored and threw it away. "I think I deserve a bigger and more expensive toy." Jimmy thought.
Jimmy eventually grew into a young man and each time he got a new toy he went through the process of excitement, boredom then throwing it away. No matter how hard he searched for that perfect toy he was never able to fill the void inside. Because what Jimmy was never taught, was about the true meaning of gratitude. An appreciation for the gifts he had and to never forget about the days when he did not have a single toy.
