The Way Home
Jesus triumphed
in solitude, the lonely place
renewing death
death no longer an the end, a punishment
death is birth, new life
death is a passageway, a journey to life
to Jesus
to God – my Father
death is the way home
my death starts at creation, at birth
entering in the sphere of death
the route i must travel
but – no fear
death is no longer to be feared
Jesus conquered fear, removed punishment
traveled the way of death, cleared the way shrouded in darkness
death a pathway of light, the light of the Son of God
Jesus made the path in the darkness, lit the way, to be embraced
joyfully anticipating the destination
the destination of home
no shorter way, no short cut or way around
death must be traveled
from creation to arrival, it is my journey
only in the light
can i see my way
have a hope
have a joy
only in Jesus
safe from the deceiver
the deceiver of darkness
only in Jesus
am i safe
kept from the siren calls of the dark-one
only in Jesus,
only in death
am i safe
secure, death is my way, my protection
till i come home
stay on the path
provided by God
the path of death
crucified with Jesus, the defeater of fear, defeater of death
be reborn, thru death to life
when i leave the path
i fall
lost
dark
annihilated
when i attempt to
make my own life – my own path – my own destiny,
i die -- forever
one path, one way
the way of death finds true, eternal life
kept from those who seek to keep their own way,
their own life,
their own “I”
“I” must die
so i can go home
death the servant of Jesus
the way to full life
death my way, my journey
follow deaths path to life, to Jesus
learn to see, to follow, to the end
Home
i will come over the rise
there in all glory
the City of God
waiting
my Father, my Brother
my God, my King
waiting
Home
will i try to make life or embrace death
will i let my “I” die decrease so Jesus can increase
will i be nothing so He can be everything
Jesus
the great “I AM”
took death, conquered it
so i could go home
Jesus,
i have strayed
forgive me
i tried to forge my own way, my own path
forgive me
for from Your way, despising it
forgive me
i did not want to die
i did not want to be less
i did not want to live thru You,
forgive me
Your way is the only way
Jesus i ask
please receive me,
into Your way,
into Your death,
into Yourself.
