The baby Abhi

Few days ago I visited a malnutrition orphanage

Age of newly born to the three years of old

Oh so adorable and beautifully created in God's image

I pray God to warm them whenever they feel cold.

Six cots each filled with a pillow and two soft toys

Oh so sweet looked at me without blinking her eyes

Interested to see a new person with a loving voice

Oh she's been taken by a family who'll be nice.

There's always someone to love.

I went to another room filled with laughter and tears

Two were crying, two were sick and others were playing

Eight beds clean and neat with caring eyes and ears

Who tend to those who are in need of gentle training.

There is a boy who is nine months old

I called him 'Abhi' who is so cute and bold

Reached out to me with hands stretched out

With a smile, so how to say "NO" to such a friendly soul.

I hugged and kissed those chubby cheeks so soft

I whispered a song of Jesus' love to him

I think he liked me and I couldn't put him to his cot

Well, I too thought of bringing him home with me.

I visited on the 07/01/2013 with my big brother and his family. It was a wonderful experience. It was very sad to hear about the backgrounds of each kid before they came to the orphanage.

It's a good thought but I'm not really ready

It's a big responsibility as I'm not fit to be

My mom said that she knows what is best for me

If I want, I can sponsor and visit monthly.

Hi Micheal, thank you for the visit to my hub and sharing your thoughts. For me, everytime when I hold a small boy, I always think of my naughty little pest and it always warms my heart. Everytime I hold a little girl, reminds me of my little naughty sis who still drives me nuts. I love the company of small kids and also they too love the company of mine :) I too pray that God will open more hearts to accept children as their own. Even if there are no parents, God take a special care of them :) God is a Father to the fatherless .

Thank you Billy ...Yes, I know that very well. For me, this oppotunity is like a dream coming true. From the day I heard this song as a little girl ,' ' , I always wanted to make atleast one person happy and make a difference. Only thing is that, I had certain allergies and my mom is over protective. I always admired missionaries and God opened the door for me to finally meet and learn from a Holland Missionary Lady since I was 14 years to 21 years. Her character and her life style really changed my life.

Thank you Suzzy for the complement :) Since I was a little girl, God has called me for it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. If you know that you're not ready, you'll also know when you are ready, and you already have the right heart. Bless you!

Ann this is the plight of many children all over the world in every country . It brings tears to my eyes as i think of all the children born who won't know of a tender love and a hug that parents give. We can only pray that they will be adopted by some loving couple, this is a great hub Ann. Keep wroiting you are really starting to grasp the nuances of writing i see. yesss....

God bless you and your family .

Bless you my friend. It is painful to see, and it is a huge responsibility. Emotions cannot be the determining factor, as you well know. Thank you for sharing your experience, and thank you for your compassion.
