The missing books
The missing books!
People say all works and no play makes Jack a dull boy. In the light of this, I would love you guys to relax a bit with this Bible Teaser which I got from my son and then added to it, rearranged and conclusively make sense out of it.
There are eighteen missing books of the bible in the following story; can you find them out as you read through? Enjoy it!
‘The last of the synoptic brothers once remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu, kept people looking so hard for the facts and for others, it was a revelation. Some were in the jam, especially since the names of the books are not capitalized nor punctuation regarded. But the truth finally struck home to a numbers of people trying it, to others it was a real job.
I want it to be a most fascinating moment for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot; others may request experienced judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them and there may be lamentations when it is found.
A lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you too can compete. Relax, for there really are eighteen names of the books in the Bible in this story. One Preacher found seventeen books in twenty minutes, but it took him three weeks to find the eighteenth book; when he did, he finally got a mat, the winning prize!’
Here is the statement from this little teaser:
‘I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded.’ – Songs of Solomon 6:11(KJV)
As nuts can not be eaten until shells are cracked and broken, so it is with the Word of God. God spoke to Israel in parables; Jesus talked to people in parables. Parables are shells that contain the nuts. The nuts are the lessons, the substance, and the essence in the parables. The entire Bible is a garden of nuts; we all need the Holy Spirit to crack and break open the shells for us before we can eat the nuts of the Word, and be prosperous.
‘The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.’ – John 14:26
Today, our Teacher and our Comforter is everywhere, patiently waiting for us to turn to Him for help in all directions. He is the only Lamp in the Holy place that shows us the Bread (of life).
Unless we turn to the Holy Spirit, the written words are hidden words! Take heed!!
