The seasons warning

Updated on September 2, 2012

The nights are getting shorter

As the summer says goodbye

The stars appear more sharply

When I gaze into the sky

The mornings have a cool bite

As the autumn shows it's near

then soon it will be winter

And the end of a sad year

The seasons end with coldness

And the new year starts the same

A fitting way to tell you

That life is full of pain

Simba, you are doing a good job with your daughter. She's reaching for the stars already! Bless her sweet soul. You might want to check out an article I posted today, "Green Tip #24....." I think you'll relate!

I'm very proud to have met you, Simba!

My life has been filled with more good memories than bad Bravewarrior I have always tried to make the most of life , not with material stuff but with experiences and I am desperately trying to influence my daughter to take the same path as all around I see people chasing unattainable happiness through material gain, I think I'm doing OK with her as all she ever wants is to spend time with me, and for a six year old has amazing interests like the stars and outerspace, these are things I'm sure she will always remember about her childhood, staying up late to learn about the stars when we get cloudless nights. She has all the best of me and none of the worst.

Thank you for you comment Bravewarrior, it was an accident whilst playing with my parents lighter early one morning with my younger sister, we got scared of the flame and dropped it between the cushions of the sofa where it remained lit and in seconds woosh the place was on fire and we were tiny kids surrounded by flames, my parents we dragged from the house and my father had to knock out the neighbour in order to come and rescue us, my Dad had more damage than we did as we were so small all the poisons fumes were still above our heads and we found in the corner of the room screaming for him without a single burn.

Nice poem, but life doesn't have to be full of pain. Only if you allow it. Get in touch with yourself, determine what you want and fight for yourself. Don't fight others!

I have to commend you on giving such an honest profile. How and why did you set your house on fire at such a young age?
