The sun cries

Nigeria,a country i love and cherish got her independence from the British on the 1st of October 1960.Nigeria is blessed with over 250 ethnic groups and ranks in population of over 150million with Muslim and Christian as the major religious group.

Nigeria is made up of four quarters, the North, South, East and West and the oil which is its major source of income is deposited in the Southern part of the country. Among the Nigeria First elites and founding fathers were.

1.Tafawa Balewa-Northern Elite and first prime minister of Nigeria.

2.Dr, Nnamdi Azikiwe-Eastern Elite and first president of Nigeria.

3.Dr. Obafemi Awolowo-Western Elite and first premier of Nigeria.

CHANGE.

The change in Nigeria began in 1966

Due to immense marginalization of the other parts of the Country by the Northerners, a group of military personals mainly from the East led a coup and toppled the government, so many Northern elites were killed including the Prime Minister and this coup gave birth to a counter coup same year by a group of Northern soldiers.

The events that followed these coups led to the birth of Biafra in 1967.

DECLARATION.

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, by virtue of the authority, and pursuant to the principles, recited above, do hereby solemnly proclaim that the territory and region known as and called Eastern Nigeria together with her continental shelf and territorial waters shall henceforth be an independent sovereign state of the name and title of "The Republic of Biafra".

The North refused to accept the declaration of Biafra and this led to a meeting in Aburi Ghana where an accord was signed by both Nigeria,Biafra and the international community but at a later stage, the Nigerian Northern entities withdrew from the accord and declared war.

The Biafrans were powerless and mainly Christians but they decided to protect their land against the northern invaders.The sun cried and cried until there were no more tears.

The land was soiled with Innocent blood of helpless and powerless men,women and children. And uptil today the sun cries on a daily basis.

The events of the war and the no victor no vanquish conclusion, the present and continuous marginalization of the Easterners and Southerners gave birth to the agitation for a peaceful independence of the people of Biafra from Nigeria.

The birth of MASSOB.(MOVEMENT FOR THE ACTUALIZATION OF THE SOVEREIGN STATE OF BIAFRA) is caused because of the continuous ill treatment of the Biafra people.The sun cries

Then let us die without a shred of fear.

Hail to Biafra, consecrated nation,
Oh fatherland, this be our solemn pledge:
Defending thee shall be a dedication,
Spilling our blood we’ll count a privilege;
The waving standard which emboldens the free
Shall always be our flag of liberty.

We shall emerge triumphant from this ordeal,
And through the crucible unscathed we’ll pass;
When we are poised the wounds of battle to heal,
We shall remember those who died in mass;
Then shall our trumpets peal the glorious song
Of victory we scored o’er might and wrong.

Oh God, protect us from the hidden pitfall,
Guide all our movements lest we go astray;
Give us the strength to heed the humanist call:
‘To give and not to count the cost" each day;
Bless those who rule to serve with resoluteness,
To make this clime a land of righteousness.

And the birth of MEND (MOVEMENT FOR THE EMANCIPATION OF THE NIGER DELTA) was equally caused by the same cry and the sun cries
