The thoughtful behavior of wisdom, a sagacious lady
This poem, about the characteristics of wisdom, is dedicated to all who answered the question: What shows that a person has wisdom?
Wisdom, s thoughtful lady, refined
Increases in strength with passing of time
Says things with wit and discernment
Doing what is right at the opportune moment
Only time will really tell, if
Made decisions do bode well.
Wisdom is not an inborn trait
In fact, she comes to those who wait
Shows reverence for the things she knows
Desiring everyone’s benefit so
Over time the lessons learned
Make her richer with life’s bounty earned.
With growing grandeur as she ages
Imbibes wine of experience at life’s numerous stages
Survives the stormy sea of angst
Dilemmas propel to do her best
Own lessons, source for her yearning
Makes life the root of worthwhile learning
Wisdom, a lady who endless travels
Includes mysteries for us to unravel
Stays the course when problems face
Disasters do not serve to faze
Only at herself does laugh
Makes easier life for someone else.
Wisdom is present in how one thinks
Involves her knowledge and missing links
Staying long enough to listen
Diamonds in words that will glisten
Only positive, useful vibes
Making sound decisions in time.
Wisdom embraces her mistakes
Instead of talking, has a listening trait
She shows calmness with her words
Does moderate the things so heard
On common sense, she does thrive
Making humility come alive.
The wisdom tree
Wisdom knows just when to speak
Involves even those who do not agree
Silence, grace and respect
Dreads to speak and overreact
Only her all does she give
Making failure a reason to live.
