Poem: The Best way , to say I love you!

Updated on January 25, 2012

The best way to say.

I love you!

He was patiently

waiting for that

correct moment

in time to arrive

the feeling was there

but to him it seems

that the time was not

so he waited more

He had no prior

experience

But he believed

that which he felt.

Somehow each time

that he saw her

those butterflies

that he felt

Made him believe

that he was

standing on this

diminishing line.

that he must now

hurry up, to tell her

the way he felt

He had seen her

So many times

before.

They had shared

quite a few looks

even as many smiles

in this kind of

subliminal return

as their eyes collide

an insurance

for tomorrow .

But he needed

so much more

the eruptions from

what he was

feeling inside

Would not let

him sleep at night

The waiting made

him feel like he

was in this trance

a never-ending

saga that would

last forever

he was getting

overly impatient

and one day

while walking Into

the kitchen area

of his home

thinking about

this love he

that he was feeling

he then saw

his mother standing

at the kitchen sink

That same feeling

again captured

his imagination

he needed answers

something took over

He immediately

shouted to his Mother!

her back was facing him

but without hesitation

He said mom:

and before she

was able to turn

He know she would

He quickly said

it was his first time

speaking to her

about Love!

slightly shaken

he then said

Does love ever die?

Instantly she

Swung around and

with an immediate

so of concern

and happy smile

on her face

Knowing that

her only son

Has come of age

She said!

Come to me my son

Give your mother

A great big hug!

blushingly

he resisted in awe

to know that mom

had already known

from the sound

In his voice

I am proud of you

she whispered!

But I would never

want to see my son

Get hurt from that

which his mother

already know

Parents are specalists

in these things

My only son!

Though she knew

It was not her place

to do anything

other that what

she had already done

Now the motherly love

and concern had

Already took over.

Not for lack of an

extra effort from me

I don't care about

the rules

Mothers make rules.

Quickly he said

Mom how do you

know It’s me,

I had not said so?

Am only asking

A question!

She said to him

Son I am your mother

It’s because of me

You can have such

fine words, in the form

of a question flowing

Without hesitation

out of your mouth

She said, if the love

You feel, is truly from

the correct place

Without that usual

immature waste of time.

Then later down the road

You won’t be pacing

the halls of this house

Looking for some type

of understanding

If it’s true love

You would have

already known all

Have all the answers

And know that

True Love can never Die!

But it’s not over

My son

Not just so soon

You must bring

her at once to me.

When my son is now

Sharing the love

that we share

with someone that's

as fortunate as they are

It’s one of those things

That a mother

Will forever cherish

There is a way

that only a mother

will have these special

Things she must say

To her son .

One of them is

showing him

what a mother knows is:

The best way to say I love you!
