The Leaf’s Fate (poem)
A leaf was heading softy toward the ground
An ending to a life which was well spent
A soul fulfilled accepting its descent
To meet the fate which all it knew had found
-
Just then the leaf was captured by a breeze
Which took it in its arms into the sky
Where ways of wonder once were known to fly
Much distant from its life among the trees
-
It saw the glories of the mountain tops
And rivers who had might within their flow
And fields where precious unseen flowers grow
And as it flew the world leaf knew just stops
-
So strange the dance and pathways of this life
Who knows what waiting splendors it will rife
