Their Secret Flows (poem)

Updated on March 9, 2015

Was in the night the couple was to meet

The melody of moon and stars was set

For now their secret flows amid the street

-

They never knew existence was so sweet

A time was made to sing their fair duet

Was in the night the couple was to meet

-

Each minute waiting how their hearts did beat

And every thought and sight a dream beset

For now their secret flows amid the street

-

Alas these lovers face of life must greet

Their world was not prepared to see them yet

Was in the night the couple was to meet

-

The warnings came with tidings of defeat

As shadows came to chill them with regret

For now their secret flows amid the street

-

But from their love their souls could not retreat

So came that deed which no one can forget

Was in the night the couple was to meet

For now their secret flows amid the street

I write a glowing review of your poem and then forget to hit "post comment". Wish I had a dime..........

I enjoyed this poem very much.

      Thank you for writing this.

The ancient love story or Romeo and Juliet is one of my

      favorites works of Shakespeare.
